DHI Hair Transplant
DHI hair transplantation is a hair transplantation procedure also known as the pen technique. There are certain points that distinguish DHI hair transplantation technique from other hair transplantation techniques. In all of the hair transplantation techniques, hair follicles (grafts) are collected from the nape between the two ears or the donor area, the collected grafts are then placed in the recipient area after micro-channels are opened. DHI implants the extracted grafts directly by placing the needle and creating an opening simultaneously with special implanters. This is the most important point that distinguishes this technique from other techniques.
If we talk about the advantages of DHI hair transplantation technique;
One of the most remarkable advantages is that the area where hair transplantation is planned can be does not need to be shaved.
When the operation is performed with the DHI hair transplantation technique, the micro-channels are not opened separately after the grafts are collected, and are directly implanted. This minimizes the time the grafts are outside the body. Hair loss is reduced during and after transplantation. With the implanters used in DHI hair transplantation technique, angle and direction are easier to determine.
Hair transplant is a surgical method of treatment for androgenetic alopecia. The hair follicles in the occipital scalp are collected and then implanted to the anterior scalp and less often to the apex. There are two methods for extracting follicles from the occipital scalp. DHI, the newest of three methods of hair transplant, is available.
DHI hair transplant advantages
With DHI hair transplantation the roots can be implanted closer to each other. As a result, the appearance after the transplantation will be close to natural. Special tools and equipment used during the procedure help to keep the scars at minimum.
Since hair transplantation can be made directly to the areas in need, DHI could be beneficial for those with ongoing hair loss. It is possible to open the channels and implant the grafts at the same time.
With all this, DHI hair transplantation is really a method that requires experience and attention. For this reason, it may be slightly more costly than other hair transplantation methods. But the naturalness and quality to be obtained as a result will be worth this cost.
Hair transplantation studies and developments
DHI Hair Transplant Turkey There have been many innovations in the current medical practice of hair transplantation. The concept of FUE or Follicular unit extraction procedure was first described by Rassman et al. This method has the advantages of preventing scarring and reducing pain after surgery. However, there are disadvantages of increased surgical time, graft fragility, and increased cost to the patient.
In 2006, a surgically developed follicular extraction (SAFE) system was developed. The average rate of 6.14% is quite low. This new innovative device was introduced by Harris. All the pioneers in this field have developed their modifications for the extraction technique and have been defined variably as the Wood, FUSE and CIT techniques.
Studies after hair transplantation
There has been great progress in the field of hair transplantation surgery to optimize results. Bernstein et al. suggested some key points to consider for maximizing graft survival.
First, the graft remains sensitive to injuries from the moment it leaves the body and is completely safe in the recipient area (ie, up to the 8th postoperative day). In another study, it was stated that the probability of mechanical graft displacement decreased on the 6th day and there was no risk on the 9th day. They showed that preventing crust formation reduces the time at which the graft is at risk of displacement.
Second, it emphasizes the importance of continuous supervision of staff throughout the procedure for optimal results. Other factors that reduce graft survival are mechanical injury, dehydration, chemical solutions, heat and hypoxia. Dehydration is the most damaging injury.
DHI hair transplant procedure
The FUE procedure was made possible and called DHI hair transplantation. The standard FUE procedure involves three steps: Graft extraction, followed by creation of channels in the recipient sites, followed by graft implantation.
However, for DHI hair transplantation technique, the above mentioned event order has been changed. First, the recipient area is prepared, and then the procedure for graft removal and immediate graft implantation is initiated.
DHI hair transplant procedure phase 2
In the 2nd stage for DHI hair transplantation, when the patient’s head is in an upright position, grafts that are difficult to remove and implant are made only by the doctor.
As the physician is the most experienced member of the team, difficult grafts are not wasted and are implanted without mechanical damage. While the physician performed the difficult parts, the surgical assistants are also busy with removing and placing the grafts. Thus, more people work at once and the whole process is better regulated to ensure better graft survival.
Finally, unlike the standard FUE procedure, there is no need to store the grafts in any storage solution, saline, or platelet -rich plasma.
Comparison of DHI hair transplantation and FUE
DHI Hair Transplant Turkey In the standard FUE procedure, the time it takes for the extraction of all grafts ranges from 1-3 hours. After that, the time it takes to create the recipient areas ranges from 15 to 30 minutes and from 1 to 2 hours for graft implantation. Therefore, the duration the grafts are outside the body varies from 1 to 2 hours.
However, in the DHI hair transplantation procedure, the planning, extraction and implantation stages are initiated simultaneously, allowing the grafts to stay outside the body between 2 and 20 minutes. It takes from 10 to 25 minutes to complete 2 stages of DHI for every 100-150 grafts.
Eyebrows are very crucial for women in creating clear and meaningful expressions. It is possible to reach the previous volume and thickness of eyebrows with eyebrow transplantation. Eyebrow transplantation is a 3-4 hour procedure performed under local anesthesia. It is commonly performed using the FUE method. In this method, after the follicles are extracted from […]
Scar treatment is the process of covering the scars and burns on the scalp area and restoring the relevant area to its former appearance. It is the process of transplanting the hair follicles taken from the back of the head which is defined as the donor area and implanting the collected grafts into the micro-channels […]
Hair loss is becoming an increasing problem in men and women day by day. There can be several reasons behind hair loss. Average loss of hair between 50 and 100 strands per day is normal. If for any reason, the number of hairs falling exceeds this number specified here, you should consult a specialist. Because […]
Hair loss is one of the most common skin health problems. Seasonal changes, iron deficiency, inadequate and unbalanced nutrition, some particular medications used, and most importantly, stress are among the causes of hair loss. Regardless of any of these reasons, hair loss can be stopped with the help of treatment methods and thus one can […]
Micro FUE technique is an advanced and more accurate technique of FUE technique. The difference between the Micro FUE and FUE technique is the micro tip. In the MicroFUE technique, hair follicles are removed with the help of micromotors and micro tips of 0.6-0.8 mm in diameter. In the FUE technique, thicker micro tips are […]
Anyone who decides to go through a hair transplantation is most curious about whether the procedure is painful or not. In the process of hair transplantation, local anesthesia is applied to the related area in order to avoid pain and ache. There are two types of anesthesia in hair transplantation; Needle-free local anesthesia In local […]
The process of providing nutrients such as minerals, vitamins, some antioxidants and protein needed by the hair cells to the middle layer of the skin where the hair follicles are located with the help of injectors with sterile and disposable sterile mesotherapy needles is called hair mesotherapy. With this method, nutrients are directly transferred to […]
Beard transplantation is a procedure that has begun to experience more demand in recent years. This is done by transplanting the hair follicles taken from the scalp to places where hair is sparse in the beard and moustache of the men. Beard transplantation can be done in hairless areas that are this way due to […]
This technique, known as a new hair transplant technique, is performed using the naturally-occurring crystal sapphire stone. Sapphire FUE hair transplantation is the name of the technique used for opening the micro-channels. The channels are opened with sapphire blades made of natural sapphire crystal. It is a method that does not harm skin tissue. In […]

The problem of hair loss is caused by many reasons such as various medications, genetic structure, malnutrition and malnutrition results in the hair follicles becoming weak and after a certain period of time, they fall off completely. Hair transplantation is the procedure of […]
